Prices softened at Yea's first full store market sale for the year on a mixed quality yarding, which saw few large drafts of cattle offered.

Agents yarded 1888 head of steers, heifers, cows and calves and pregnancy-tested-in-calf females at the Yea Memorial saleyards.

Steers sold to a top of $2050, heifers reached $1680, and cows and calves made a top of $2450.

Elders Delaney auctioneer Anthony Delaney, Bunyip, said agents believed they had to hold the sale due to the numbers they'd been yarding at Yea.
