Any potential impact of US tariffs on the red meat industry was shugged off at the Yea store cattle sale.
One leading agent quoted the market for steers as up by about $200 a head.
Several large drafts of spring-drop weaners were also offered at the sale of 3249 steers and heifers.
Steers sold to a top of $2560, while heifers reached $1990.
Nutrien auctioneer Josh McDonald, Warrnambool, said it was a very good yarding of cattle given the dry conditions.
