Tariff announcements have failed to influence the immediate store market, as prices have soared $200-$300 at Yea in Victoria’s North East.
Store cattle prices soared by $200-$300 a head at Yea in Victoria’s North East on Friday, defying expectations that this week’s US tariff announcement might dampen market sentiment.
Livestock agents yarded 3227 cattle for the April store sale with strong buyer demand recorded across most categories.
Elders Delaney Livestock and Property director Anthony Delaney said the size of the yarding was unprecedented, driven in part by local spring-drop calves coming onto the market earlier than usual due to the lack of an autumn break.
