Day two of Elders' blue ribbon weaner sales at Yea was all over in just over an hour on Friday.
The fast-paced bidding saw 3500 Angus and Hereford steers knocked down to a handful of volume buyers by 10.35am, following a 9.30am start.
JBS Foods Australia bought just under a third of the cattle on offer, picking up 1000 steers with three representatives at the sale.
The majority of the JBS steers will head to Queensland, with an order for JBS Brisbane snatching up 900 steers.
The Queensland-bound steers included volume offerings like Glendale Pastoral's pen of 46, 401-kilogram, Angus steers for $1630 a head or 406 cents a kilogram, Boxhill Pastoral's pen of 62, 399kg, Angus steers at $1600 or 401c/kg, and Cremona Park's pen of 40, 370kg, Angus steers at $1520 or 411c/kg.
