Limestone cattle breeders Ian and Judi Marshman set their eyes on the consumer prize when selecting genetics for their Hereford breeding operation.
The Marshmans run a 260 self-replacing breeding herd across 300 hectares at Grumble Grumble, Limestone, just outside of Yea.
They attributed their breeding selection, which focuses on intramuscular fat, Meat Standards Australia grading and docility of sires, to frequently topping the Hereford offering at the Yea weaner sale.
